Default Extra long twist drill bits

Are extra long twist (normal) drill bits available in small sizes (2.4mm or 3mm), does anyone know? I need 110mm or 120mm long bits to insert some brass reinforcing rod into short grain lengths of wood.

    JB,
I purchased a 9/64 some time back, from the local Hardware.
I had the choice of a couple of others, mind you all Imperial.
Metric 'should' be available by now.

    Yes.

The local shop has down to 2mm, 120mm long, up to 6.5mm at 250mm long.

    And about $20 each...

Pretty expensive doohickeys, and no garantee they will drill straight at that length.

I think that there is a drill bit called an 'aircraft drill' that has a long shank, but short flutes, that might drill straighter than a drill with full length flutes as most long drills have.

Sandman had some extra long bits for sale recently. Cheap too.

Any of the industrial tool suppliers such as just tools, and blackwoods, will have long series drills. Mind you, the definition of 'long' changes as the diameter decreases, but i'm reasonably sure that you can get pretty long 3mm bits.

EDIT: All Tools is another one.

I see you are in Brisbane, JB.
So you should get these at Trade Tools Direct or Glenfords.
