    Default Triton 18V battery Drill

I will be in the market shortly for a new drill - the title suggests what I'm looking at. I currently have a Bosch 12V but the battery is not holding charge for long and no one appears to be in any hurry to supply me with one - and those who have made positive noises re replacement have made mega $ noises for a new battery. I would like a new battery as well as a new battery drill.

On doing my research so far I have a quote from a local hardware for $319.00 for the Triton - seemed excessive as some of the other hardwares are down as low as $170. They appear to be the same drill - I asked for a price check to be told,
"Yep, that's it - it is a hammer drill as well you know".

    Any one got one?
    What did you pay?
Are you happy with the performance?
    Any problems?
    Would you buy another one?

    Regards,
    Bob

    Yes
Free (but they are around that $169 or so)
    Yes
Minor (broke the lightswitch - but mine was an old version, and the switch was too long!, problem with the chuck, also resolved in the new versions)
    Yes

Love the plunge mechanism- it does get in the way occasionally, but is very useful the other 90% of the time!

    Love the torque

absolutley love mine. Paid 169 at Bunnies
It's a heavy drill if you are using it all day, everyday. But for handyman stuff - brilliant.
If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.

You have a copy of options with your battery pack:
Get it repacked, or if you're OK with a soldering iron you should be able to do it yourself. You should be able to unscrew it and will find a number of C size NICADs inside. If you're buying the cells get a quality brand like Sanyo or Panasonic.

Or you could get an alternative pack from the likes of http://www.globebatteries.com.au/bat...ols/Bosch.html
    for $50-60
