spare part needed for a Stanley No. 4
Hi all,
I was recently given my first plane. Ok, it was second hand, a bit rusty and blunt but hey it was free and i'm grateful and so after a little bit of tlc i now have a pretty shiney plane with a sharp blade and i'm already to start. That was until i tried to put it together and realised that i am missing a part. From my research on the web, i've woked out that the bit missing is the Yoke Apperture (http://www.amgron.clara.net/planingp...dannotated.gif)
However i have since drawn a blank as to where i can get a new/second hand spare from.
Do any of you have any ideas?
As ever, thanks for your advice and time.

nige, do you mean the cap iron? (the plate with the curved end?)
The yoke aperture is the rectangular hole near the top. If it is the cap iron, and you are close by I can give you one. Let me know.

Groggy,
Yes i do mean the cap iron. This would explain why i can't find anything on the web. I suppose it would help if i read the picture correctly!
Thanks very much for the offer, most kind, but i live up in Beechworth. However now i know the correct name for the part i should be able to (hopefully) find a spare.
Must remember not to appear so stupid in future. Thanks for being so patient with me...
