Where to get old Stanley hand router blades
Gang
Can someone let me know where I can purchase blades for my Stanley #71 router.
For those unfamiliar with this tool, it is a hand router - that is, similar to a hand plane. It uses L-shaped blades, a little like a chisel. It is magic to use when cleaning out dado bottoms and morticing for hinges.
see: http://www.supertool.com/StanleyBG/stan10.htm#num71
I have a smaller version as well, the #271, and recently purchased this #71, its bigger brother.
Although the one I have is about 100 years old, these planes are - or were until recently - still being made (in the UK only). Is there a local distributer, or a second-hand outlet for such parts?

Thanks Doorstop
I will go down this road if I must. I have also heard of others using Allen keys as a basis and grinding a cutting edge onto the end. However, I would prefer to try and find original blades.

Thanks for the advice. I'd forgotten about Working tools. I've had a few planes from them in the past and was very happy with their service. I just didn't think of them in the context of parts. I'll send Karen an email and see what they've got.
