Thumbs up A Meeting With Wongo

    So anyways.....

Friday before last I knocked off early from the Friday thread to go to DIY Dan's for the Meet & Greet.

Wongo asked me to pick him up on the way and asked me if I wanted lunch.
"Yes please, Mr Wong," was my polite response.

Rocked up at Wongo's house and he asks if I'm hungry.

"Yes Mr Wong. I'm famished", says I, with a sudden flashback to the Famous Five.

"OK. We will start with soup. Then a stir fry. With rice".

Then he gives me a book that I can read to my daughter.

He disappears into the kitchen and starts chopping up an array of vegetables and meat, and we are engaging in conversation as I sneak up on his laptop and post a few random musings on a Forum he is part of, under his user name.

Chit turns to chat, and soon enough the soup is ready.

Chicken and corn.............oh man what a soup. Fair dinkum, I would have just been happy with that. Heaps of flavour and it really hit the empty spot.

Then the main meal. He assures me that the meat was chicken ( ) and although I couldn't finish the meal, it was one of the nicest lunches I've ever had!

Just then, his wife and youngest daughter get home. I think Emily (the daughter) was a bit apprehensive about the strange man in her house, but then she realised it was just her dad. Then she noticed me and got all shy. Such a cutie though, and his wife is very welcoming, too.
Imagine coming home on a hot day with your young daughter, seeing a ute filled with expensive looking woodworking machines parked on the street outside your house, thinking "What has Scott bought now" and still smiling and being polite to the bloke who parked them all there. I wonder if she still would've been friendly if I asked Scott how he would like to pay the bill.

He showed me his rocking horse, his model ships, the cubby house he built and some of the furniture he has made.....all quality stuff! He then took me next door to his in-laws, where his workshop is. This is where the bad news starts. All Jet gear.

Well after about two hours of chatting, eating and gawking, we headed on our merry way to DIY Dan's for the meet and greet.

But what a generous fellow our Wongo is.
He invites me into his home.
He gives me a gift for my daughter.
He cooks me a grouse lunch.
He introduces me to his family.
He "lets" me use his log in.
He gives me a tour of his workshop and the stuff he has made.

Thanks for a great few hours, Scott!

    That's right.

Every year I travel the globe giving away lathes to all the good little boys and girls who do not question the truth of what I type. Looks like you miss out this year.

    Brendan,
you're welcome to drop by for lunch or dinner anytime, as long as you park a ute load of machinery out the front. We could talk wood work and fire fighting and machinery (but I can't gaurantee that the machinery would still be in the ute when we finished.

Brendan so after him praising you, feeding you, spoiling you rotten, you still leave with a ute full of machinery, what sort of a hint do you need.
