    Default Looking for Engine Info...

    Hi guys,

I just bought a brand new 125cc 4 stroke motorcycle engine cheap from a mail order clearance place, with the intention of building (over time) a small off road, 2 seat recreational vehicle for my kids (and me too if I have to be brutally honest) to ride/drive around on our 6 acre bush scrub block.

Only problem, now the engine has arrived all shiny and new in its box full of pedals, linkages, gaskets and manifolds, there isn't a manual.

I got onto the manufacturer's website (in China of course), and while it is one of the most professional and well polished Chinese websites I've ever looked at, including a complete version in English, I could find no reference to the model number of this engine anywhere, most disappointingly not even in the manual download section.

Just on the off chance, does anyone either have, or know where a manual can be obtained for, the Zongshen es125zsc 125cc Motor.

I reckon I can pretty much figure out all the mechanical bits, but there are a dozen or so unmarked wires that I'd prefer to connect with confidence rather than experiment with...

    Many thanks in anticipation,

    pcal

Sorry, but does the term 'hysterical laugher' mean anything?

Bummer. Get onto the mail order firm or find out what brand beer the nearest m/c sparky drinks.

Bored mine out and put a bigger carb on it and now I get upwards of 8kph from the billy cart, but I digress.

Off to the local expert I'd say, bike shop, mower shop etc?

    Ho ho ho...

It was cheap, its a bit of fun, and I'll enjoy building it with my son even if it never works right! Had it been for something I really needed, like a fire pump, or something serious like that, then I would definately have taken a different path...

I did say "just on the off chance", which you may interpret as, "I have no real expectation of success in finding this data, but hey, this group has surprised me in the past so why not give it a go..."

Incidentally, have got Chinese equipment from this mob and others in the past, and been pleasantly surprised how well the stuff works, even if the boxes always have that characteristic smell... In fact, if I removed all the Chinese power tools and hardware from my workshop, the place would look decidedly thin.

    Regards,

    pcal

Maybe they will sell you a manual.
If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.
