Router table
G'day mates
That's "my first - my last - my everything" router table.
I removed the jaws from the workmate and screwed a 21mm plywood plate.
covered with 8mm "Floor panels" for smoothness.
The router is attached directly to the floor panel so the loss of plunge is only 8mm.
No insert plate, just 30mm hole (my biggest bit).
Regards

Another ripper setup, Niki. I'm pinching your height adjuster rig.

Thank you Chris
Before you pinch the height adjuster, if you have the "normal" cabinet router table, soon I'll post a simpler and easier to make height adjuster for cabinet mounted router.

Simple, easy, very effective and space saving too.
Love the doweller and the height adjustment.
Looks like a slot in the top - is that for a saw?
Great work Niki, just shows you don't need to spend lotsa money on tools.
Have a Greenie.
I suggest this goes into the best list as theres always someone asking what router table to buy or make.

Niki,
You do have good ideas. I always enjoy seeing your work. I like the router table a lot. I am going to make a router table soon so your thread really helps.
Enjoy using it brother.Visit my website at www.myFineWoodWork.com

Thank you so much Bob
Tomorrow, I'll post a full procedure of doweling.
The slot is to position the fence distance plate as you can see on the 10th pic, at the bottom of the pic you can see the runner of the "8, 6, 4" plate.
In the mean time, I added another slot, crossing this one, for "Bit - fence stop" positioning.
I'll post a separate thread on router table adjustments.
Thanks again

Thank you Wongo
I do enjoy using it very much as router table but my favorite is the doweling, it's so simple and idiot proof that even I can make it without any mistakes and everything "clicks" like "Lego".
Thanks

Thank you so much Cliff
The idea came to me after I "Floored" my living room and almost "skiing" on it.
While reading the "advertisement" that they are made of HDF and covered with very strong plastic laminate (Formica) and I get 15 years guaranty for walking on them, I said to myself that it will be perfect for the CS guide (and it is) and naturally it followed to the router table.
The next step will be to cover the router table fence (just waiting for the spring to come)
Thanks
niki

Thank you so much Dave and Mike
Yes, the spring is here and today the temp. will be +8°c (and increasing) and it's time to shake off from the winter hibernation and start looking for Oak in the villages around here and lets see with what SWMBO will come-up this season.
Yesterday, some young couple with their carpenter came to us to show him our stairs to the 2nd floor (no, I did not make them) and the carpenter (actually, he is working as a fire-brigade and woodwork is a part time hobby/job) told me that he made himself his 400mm wide planer. I'm going to see it one day and take some pics to post here.
Best regards
niki
