Looks good, Ken. Nice to see some action on this forum. What kind of wood are you using? Looks a bit like cherry.

The turning with semicircles on the outer band is Poplar (also call a Tulip tree) and
The turning with circles inside circles on the outer rim is Hard Maple
The Nova OT instruction manual says "dont leave the turning and return to the lathe later" you will loose track of your indexing and mess it up...... YUP!! I concur! :=-}
Ken
Now I gotta clean the shop so I can find the tools........

Yup. You'll also find that most woods will move after turning, and the gravity assist from leaving 'em hanging on the lathe doesn't help matters any.
So, if you come back after a couple of hours there'll be times you find everything is out by a few mm even if you do remember where you are up to!

Another OT Project
I have been rebuilding cabinets havent had as much time for OT this week but here is quicky project for my coffee cup....
Made out of scrap Poplar
It is 6" in diameter and the outer ring circles are 3/8" diam and number a total of 24
The inner circle is in relief and has 1 and 3/8" diam interlocking circles totally 5....
It was a quick fun thing...
I am reading Mr. Holtzappel's book and tryinmg out some of his ideas.... It is a fun way to learn....
