    Default Paving costs - Melbourne

I've been quoted $100 per square meter (70 m2 total) to remove some old paving (on sand bed only), excavate and remove/dump soil, lay 100mm concrete base and re-pave using existing pavers.
Access down the side of the house is suited for a dingo only, and the machine owner has a dingo, bobcat, tipper setup.

Quote includes removing existing sleeper garden edge (@20m worth), and a hot water system while job is being done, then replacing.

Does the cost sound about right for Melbourne?

    As always, assistance gratefully received.
    Cheers,
    Clinton

We recently paid $50.00 m2 to lay pavers (+ roadbase and sand). Prep work was mostly done already but would have been an additional $30.00 m2 if required. Pavers were seconds at about $20 m2. (Approx 80m2 total).

So for your scope we were paying about $80 m2 so $100 isn't bad.

Clinton I would say its a good price seeing as how that they have to rip up and relay, plus all the other work involved..

    Thanks fella's.
I thought it wasn't too bad... just that over 70 m2, its a large overall price. More $ than I normally see in a long time.

Increase the value of the house and make it look nice for the missus (this area is her pet hate) vs put $7000 in to shares and some machines..... bugger!
