How Old is My Bench Plane? This question gets asked a lot..
So a lot of good people got together and made what's called a Flow Chart or Type Study..
Now you have to remember Stanley did not make or use a Flow Chart when they made planes, they used up all the old parts as they came up with new designs and plane made near the beginning of a new design style might have some of the older parts.. Example is Type 16 No.8 planes often have keyhole lever cap that is from the T15 era
