    My wife is after some of these hinged split ring things anyone know where i can get them? oh what they are known as ?

    Officeworks should have them with the ring binders - they can also be found [in the older type] hardware store where they are curtain rod clips for shower curtains - possibly Spotlight or similar.

    'Art' shops such as Eckersleys or a large stationers or a 'good' general newsagents that also has books & art supplies.

    They are also used in theatre & movies for the continuity checkers who keep photos of all the players with their costume & makeup photos sorted on the largest size of those rings, I've seen (and have some) up to 4"(100mm) diameter, and they start at around 3/4"(20mm) diameter.
