Toni, I purchased a cheapo grinder from bunnings (very cheap) it shattered on me, so then I took it back and purchased a Ryobi, a bit dearer but worth it. Also recently I purchased 80 grit white grinding wheel which is really great for sharpening. Amos

    G'day Toni,
The only thing about grinders that I can offer is if at all possible, play with the tool rest and protective guard. I went out and bought an "el-cheapo" and the tool rest is not as stable as I would like, nor is it easily adjustable. As for the eye guard, I do not like the setup on mine. It is very cheap. I went to my dad's place and he bought a craftsman and I really like that setup. It may not seem like a big deal, but for me, it makes a huge difference.

    Cheers,

    Rick
