filling recycled hardwood
I posted a qn in the Finishing forum about filling nail holes and gum veins in recycled Blackbutt.
I am going to have to glue up boards and mill dados and rebates for the joints to construct the carcase - should I do the bulk of the filling before doing this?
Any other words of wisdom - particularly on how best to glue butt joints to get the boards as flat as possible before the next steps. Will dowelling them make it easier or harder to get the joins flush?
