Default What method do you use for crosscutting

OK, I realise this probably sounds like the most naiive question that has ever been posted here - but I'm serious. Say you were an amateur furniture maker, or maybe a professional who doesnt have every tool going, and you had to cut a piece of 90 x 19 to length. What method would you use to give you a nice square 'furniture grade' cut. Do you do that on a bench saw with crosscut blade, bench saw with whatever blade is there, scms, handsaw ?

I've looked at various web sites and books but still havent figured this one out yet. The cuts I make look OK on the finished job, but never seem to be 100% when you study them closely.

    thanks

for timber of that size or bigger I use a cross cutting sled on my table saw and have fiund it the best. I do have a scms which is quite accurate but prefer the table saw unless it is a realy long piece of wood.
