    Default Storing sanding discs

this lovely wet weather brings out the faults in stuff and my ROS discs keep rolling up. I read/saw somewhere something for storing them flat. So I would like your ideas please.

Try keeping them in an airtight box with one or two of those gel packs.

Mine are held together in grit size packs with a rubber band, no problems as of yet.

I recall seeing a little device made from a base of wood with a bunch of dowels to match the holes on the disks then another piece of wood with matching holes to slip over the top of the lot.

personally I just keep them in the packets they come in, no probs yet.

I went to one of those computer swap meets and purchased a 5-1/4" floppy disk storage case. I've been storing my ROS H&L disks in that case.

Also, IMNSHO, quality H&L disks don't curl in humid weather.

Those portable expanding files from stationers/office supplies work a treat. Get one with a carry handle.
No. Get 3, one each for ROS discs, sandpaper, Wet & Dry.

You could get a old (not working) small or large fridge and install a 5-10-watt globe init to keep things dry it's a good place to store other things that you don't want to rust like knives router bits elero rods and the like

This type of device is shown in the Readers' Tips in the current isssue of Australian Woodsmith. I have just made one (and given it to FIL for his birthday). He seems to like it and it does keep the discs flat. So I may have to make one for myself.
    Cheers

I was going to make something to keep mine in about 3 years ago, but for the short term, I grabed a folder & a heep of a4 plastic sleaves. It works a treat 3 years on, & I have no plans to use a more complicated system.

The plastic containers spindles of blank cd's and dvd's come in are perfect for up to 4 1/2" disks just cut the center spindle away with a saw, they are also great for storing cutting and grinding disks for disk grinders leave the centre spindle for these
