    Default Oh, Willllllllllgaaaaa!

    I think Wilga is a much under-appreciated wood - it can look pretty boring as a blank, but turning can reveal some very subtle and complex figure. Normally the large American pens don't do much for me - too much metal & plastic - but in this case the "furniture" really serves to show off the Wilga's subtle beauty.

    Skew, I think the Brigalow is as claimed - it's more spectacular when the yellow sapwood is present for contrast, but the red heartwood can have some golden highlights, as in Matt's example.

    Some of the other Brigalow blanks that these came from do have the sapwood, from memory one of these ones just had the slightest bit as well but was all turned away.
