They are going to be $800 USD for the router and Festool will offert two different options for accessories included in a Systainer. A set with metric rings for $400 and one with Imperial copying rings $310, the set also include guide rail adpter and edge guide and a few bases plates. May 1st release.

Bryan, I rang festool in Melb last week inquiring if anything new was in the pipeline and it was infered that a range of drills will be available with lithium ion btys this year, nothing else. maybe what is released onto the us of a market is not destined for oz.

i have seen and used it and it is completely different and way better, look at their micro web pages on the new stuff.......great... though i think the 700 trim router is kind of daft at 700 usd when the 1010 will do all the same and then some, for half the money.

Guys, I recently had the chance to use the OF2200 at the Festool Training center Las Vegas, NV, USA. I can tell you this router is very powerful, we made full depth cut with a large bit in one pass in 8/4 (50 mm) cherry and solid surface material. Some of you may not be familiar with American cherry, not a particularly dense (but it is hard enough to be used as flooring), it does burns fairly easy. One of the turret columns has a 2 mm offset feature, this allows you to make a one pass removing most of the waste, then move the turret to the 2 mm offset and make a second pass 2 mm deeper as a cleanup pass. Here's a picture.

Here's a shot of the bit we used, a 2 1/4" (58 mm) diameter bit. NOTE: the 2200 is coverd with the solid surface dust only because Steve made a cut without the hose attached to show just how much dust that stuff produces. Don't let this picture fool you, the dust collection is awsome on this router.

The bases can be changed without tools, an number of different bases are sold as accessories. Note the green see through base will not be on the production unit, the base will be phenolic.

The dust collection is the best of any router I've ever see. This router isn't for everyone, but if you need a production router this is the one to buy. I've not used anything even close to matching the quality of the 2200.
