    Default Report for Boatmik!

You wanted to know how the little trolling motor worked.

Yesterday I went about 5 or 6 miles up the lake, to windward.
The wind was steady about 15mph. I made real good time.
Then the sky darkened and the wind picked up and I decided
to make a run for the marina. The wind really started blowing,
the swells were three feet plus and breaking over the bow and
    stern.

The motor was able to turn the boat into the wind and hold it
while I got the sail down. I was able to make good headway
with the bare pole. When I got to the marina the motor was
more than enough to come about and make the lee side of
the docks to wait it out.

The prop was out of the water at times. I had about fifteen
gallons of water in the boat. It rained so hard I couldn't see
ten feet. A 35' Cobalt went aground and a Catalina 30 got
knocked down bad when it jibed and fouled the main sheet.
They had one go in the water.

They said the wind topped 45mph several times.

    My little boat has grit.

All in all, I think the motor is a great investment in
    safety.

    Drying things out!
