Default GMC MAGNESIUM Cordless 3 Gear Hammer Drill

Need a bit of advice and opinions on the purchase of a GMC MAGNESIUM Cordless 3 Gear Hammer Drill.
Here is a link to the GMC website
    http://www.gmcompany.com.au/index.cf...oducts&pid=612

My son is after a new drill and has heard about this one, but I have gone to a couple of local hardware's around Adelaide and I have not come across one as yet.

Did a bit of a search to find out about this drill, but did not find much so i was just wondering about GMC products and what they are like.
If anybody could gives us a bit of feedback on this it would be greatly appreciated.

    Brendan

Haven't looked for a while as I bought myself a load of seperate 18V Makita Lithium bits, but there are a couple of places in Melb that repair/rework GMC and Ryobi warranty returns and sell them at about half retail. They seemed to have plenty of stock of them last year soon after the came on market.

thanks for the reply, looks like that may be worth a look.
You don't happen to know the name of the repair centre?

The one near me is Lifestyle Innovations in Croydon.

Incidently, the comment that the rebuilders seemed to have plenty of stock was intended to imply that they seemed to generate a lot of returns, i.e. a warning

Thanks I will heed that warning, had that in the back of my mind when my son had talked to me about the GMC but the way I look at it if the price is right and he gets some good use out of it then it has paid for itself.
