I am going to Sheparton this weekend to conduct a 2 day basic woodcarving workshop for a number of members from Woodturners of the Golburn Valley Club.
The course will consist of making and sharpening a chip carving knife from a bootmakers knife. This will also be used for a chip carving exercise. We will also do gouge exercises using the tool to cut both cove shapes and beads. We will do lettering in a serrif style and complete a practice board with a low relief carving of a flower.
The participants will also be given in depth instruction on sharpening their carving tools.
So. What are you doing this weekend?
Cheers
Neil
