Hitachi Template Guides
G’day Folks, would an owner of a Hitachi Router kindly make a couple of measurements for me. I would like the diameter measurement of the Template guide mounting plate. Also the distance between the mounting screws for this plate.
Reason. I have a Ryobi router that has only one available (as far as I can ascertain) template guide. I would like to use a range of guides and on seeing a photo of a Hitachi it looks to have the same mounting method as the Ryobi and of a similar diameter.
It’s probably a very long shot but just... just maybe Mr Ryobi made his the same as Mr Hitachi.
Thanks to all, ElectroLad

FWIW, I have used my Ryobi template guide OK in a Hitachi router.
I too had the same thoughts as yourself as they were identical with this.
Also the fence system was identical in all respects.
Make what you can of this information As these were the first two routers I ever handled I assumed there must be some sort of defacto standard in place...Ray

Original Hitachi Template Guide
diameter measurement of the Template guide mounting plate
60.000 mm (according to my electronic digital verneer caliper)
the distance between the centre of the mounting screws for this plate is 61.500.
Hope that helps.Reuel

Thank you Reuel. My 35 year old dial calipers say it is 2.362 ins (60mm) so Mr Hitachi and Mr Ryobi must have been talking to each other on that day.
The centre of the mounting screws seems a wisker less than 61.5 on the Ryobi though but that is probably my reading of the calipers. In any event that dimension is not a problem.
Thanks again to both you and zathras. Pat
