    Default First Serious Carving

This is a little carving that I did a while ago. It was my first real attempt at woodcarving done at a wood work school under the tutelage of Laurens Otto. He is a fantastic carver and loves a good joke too!
The carving is out of beech mounted on top of a box I made out of coachwood. I had a lot of fun doing this and now I have some carving chisels (now sharp thanks to Andy Mac) I hope to do some more carving.

Oh and it was french polished with dewaxed blonde!
Have a nice day - Cheers

    Rowan,

You seriously need to build a boat before you are trapped indoors doing more of that stuff!! It's contagious you know!

    Nice but!

    cheers,

P (But being a Qld contraction for "though" and not to be confused with some sort of compliment about the fishes bottom.)

A good first effort Rowan Now you've got the carving tools and that supply of mahogany, there should be no stopping you!

    Cheers,
