Which Timber?
G'day guys,
I love fishing and I'm looking at making some lures. I don't quite know which timber to choose but it has to be strong and has to float good. Could someone please suggest some timbers for me?

My nephew is a mad keen lure fisherman and he's been using Beech to make a few - Jacaranda has similar qualities

One of my mates has been making some large lures (about 300mm plus) from Spanish Cedar - imported by a local timber dealer from Central America I think. He's ex-president of Mirrolure, so I guess he knows what he's doing; or at least he puts on a good act. Google [spanish cedar] for equivalent densities.
