Default New addition to the family

Finally got off my ???? yesterday and finished off a Dreadie Ive had hanging around the workshop for 18 months. Top is Sitka Spruce, sides and back are IRW and the neck is Honduras mahogany. The white bridge pin on the b string is not intentional....the original RW pin shot out and destroyed itself against the ceiling whgile tensioning up the string (always check the string ball is properly seated before tensioning up!!). The finish is the end result of a 2-3 month french polish job. There are a few blemishes on the top which Ill fix up when I get a chance.

The sound....big but balanced. The instrument will be getting a review by some professional musicians tonight.

Looks like a "hillbilly smile" with the white pin

Nothing like a big loud dready to make it all worthwhile!
What sort of neck joint did you use?
    Any elecrtonics?
    Cheers!

Lookin good Martin, I also await the reviews and a sound clip. You might be the most patient luthier I know of.

    It looks great martin.

The body looks very deep. Is that to get the big sound?

Looking forward to the fashion shoot.

Okay I had plans to do a fashion model shoot of the new guitar but infortunately a couple of my musician friends got sight of the instrument and demanded that I hand it over for "running in". I have a feeling this is the last I will see of this instrument.

Will keep working on getting some better pics of the guitar.

Oh yeah..stay posted, a 12 string sister to this guitar should be finished in a few months time.

    Cheers Martin
