Desktop fly tying bench
Hi all,
Cranked this up over a few weekends last year for a mates birthday. Had a fair bit of highly figured but none the less scrap lengths of Tassie timbers lying about, so got to work creating something a bit "eye catching".
Base and back in Macrocarpa Pine
Sides in Tassie Oak
Vise block and base trims in Blackwood
Top hats in Black Heart Sassafras
Bobbin pins in Tassie Oak
Finish in 2 pack gloss epoxy, rubbed back with 0000 steel wool between coats.
Sits on 6 soft rubber feet - perfect for sitting on the coffee table, etc... without getting into trouble from the Mrs...
Portable too...
