Problem with router leaving rippled edges
I just bought a new flush trim router bit in order to flush trim the edges of laminated sheets of 18mm marine ply.
The first 2 - 3 cuts were fine, however, now it will not cut cleanly or smoothly at all. The edges of the cut are very rippled.
The router bit appears fine visually.
I am using the router freehand with a straight edge.
What could be the problem?

If there are any bumps or hollows on the edge of the ply the uneveness (is that how it's spelt) will be transferred onto the routed edge.
Try sanding the edge first.

How much material are you trying to remove. If you attempt to remove too much the bit may grab. Try using less blade and more sweeps.
