    Default Book Rack

Hi, attached is the book rack made for SWMBO for XMAS. The ends are from Australian red cedar from Pat and the base from blackbutt from Greg. The panels are huon pine. The design is from the latest copy of Woodsmith magazine.

    Nice one - looks great.

How are the ends joined to base? Are the ends reinforced at all to take the combined weight books all leaning in one direction?

    Cheers

    Hi

The rack sits on two "bars" that have a dado each end. Each leg of the end panels has a slot that fits over the dado plus there is a vertical screw through the bar into the leg. I hope that it is strong enough to take the weight

I'm sure it'll more than strong enough with the screw to boot.

Andrew, that is beautiful. Australina Red Cedar and Huon Pine make a good match. Well done sir.
