visit to best offers for timber

A few weeks back a bloke emailed sigidi about selling some timber "best offers for timber" sig then posted a thread which I read. After some phone calls I made a trip to Airlie Beach (tandem trailer in tow, not going that far and coming home empty handed) to have a look at what he has there.
David has been running a tree trimming operation so trees that are useful go back to his place to be slabbed. His plan was to keep it all but he's selling up so its for sale.
I picked up some Mackay Cedar and some hardwood slabs that shmbo liked and a piece of rain tree 2.5 m long and about 800 in diameter, its is supposed to be nice stuff. Anyone had experience with this timber?
Prices where in the reasonable range I figure, not too dear but he's not giving it away either. If u were going to take quantity I think he will talk turkey.
Generally softwoods and hardwoods specific to the local area good lengths and 60 ish mm thick edge to edge slabs, some logs yet to be cut.
If anyone is looking for whole logs worth of slabs could be worth a phone call and maybe a trip.
