Hi John,
The dust shute is one of the better features on my machine and I would encourage you to do a similar design. It also adds rigidity to the machine as you effectively have a huge cross brace with the panels so long as you fix them firmly to your frame. Work your electronics box into the shallow end of the dust shoot.
You could add a stringer down the middle of the table if you have concerns the cross supports will flex.
For casters I can recommend these for both price and quality - they will take a load of 560kg and the wheels are nice and wide, cast iron centres and run on neddle rollers.

I have two fixed and two swivel but there are times I wished it had four swivel. Being a wide machine it is hard to swing into position and it would be easier to move to the other end and wrench it around.
Cheers,

The wide wheels make these casters track quite well. The only real issue with four swivel verses 2 fixed is moving in the opposite direction - the four casters have to rotate through 180. All considered I would still like mine with four so I do not have to do three point parking to get it in the right spot.
The gantry beam is a 120 by 80 heavy Item section and spans 1200mm. It was about $300 Aus just for the one beam but I would use it again on a similar build.Cheers,
Rod

The 80/20 seller in Sydney is very nice guy by the name of Kevin. Have stopped by a few times for myself and a mate. Prices are reasonable too.

80/20 Yuck! Robotunits all the way baby!!!
FYI finally got my X axis running again after 2 months - sweet.
You can also see the sweet robotunit shine in the aliminium extrusion.
Now on a serious note - best of luck with the build and keeping the actual cost isolated from the wife.
PS: Do you happen to have a nice plan for a tug. I want something around 1500mm which I will cut on the new CNC.
PSS: I have the 2.2Kw water cooled unit. Its nice and very quiet - cutter will make the noise compared to this unit. Keep in mind mine can only take ER11 collets, and ER16 maybe suited instead for your work. I think the other boys have units that allow ER16's.
