    Default Ryobi Drill Press

Hope this is the right place: I have a fairly new Ryobi EDP 2221l Drill press 250w

The problem is the 250w. IS it a viable situation to get a bigger motor, and if yes where may I find one that will attach easily.

    Other suggestions are readily accepted.

It certainly is. I purchased a Ryobi drill press (300 watts) way back in 1999. Gutless. Small woodwork projects were ok, but attempting drilling metal with a diameter greater than 10mm stalled the motor. The first thing to break was the "push on/off" style switch followed closely by the plastic "clamp" that held the depth gauge.

Did I learn from this? No.

I purchased a Ryobi DB12 with a 450 watt motor from Bunnings just before Christmas. Three boxes later, I got my money back. Bunnings kept persisting that "Ryobi has a replacement policy, it does not refund."

    Good luck with your Ryobi.
