My First Custom Job Customer!
I was in my shop earlier and my 6 year old friend & neighbor came by to get some scrap wood that’s child-safe. He asked me to make a custom boat and went into details on the specs. It has to be this wide but not TOO wide and long, but not TOO long, and the sail has to be made out of a triangular block. I asked him if he was going to be around tomorrow, but he had to run off ‘cuz his mom was calling him. He shouted back to me, ‘Just make my boat, OK?’

Your on the computer , when you have this important commission to fill, shame on you
This is important , to the customer, remember he's six!!
I hope you have built the boat & sail.

Maybe it would be an idea to have the customer himself glue the mast with the sail on it into the hull.
Then he can say he helped make it.
I'm guessing you'll be charging him the usual fee for a boat of a cookie.

This is not the first time such a request was made. Some time back, a little before the birth of this forum, a gentleman was similarly commissioned. Then it rained for forty days and forty nights and it wasnt even Queensland!

If he gets it without working for it; he's a parasite; and if he accumulates it after a life time of hard work, people call him a fool who never got anything out of life."
