PDR skids
Hi all
The skids for the PDR are mentioned a few times in this forum but I haven't found the exact dimentions for them.
How WIDE, HIGH and LONG should they be? And how many? Are two enough?
My initial crossssection drawing is made of two sections. Lower is softwood and on top of it is a strip of hard wood (5-8mm).
What do ya reckon?

Howdy Koala,
You don't need them at all. The boat is fine without them if it has a 6mm bottom. Our original boats only needed them because they were a 4mm bottom.
If you want to pull them up on a concrete boat ramp ... they could be a worthwhile addition. Those dimensions look fine.
You may not be as fast as Csaba in Hungary if he doesn't fit them. Fit them about 1ft 2" (355mm) in from each side of the boat. They only need to go a little past the forward cockpit bulkhead at the front and through to the transom at the back .
The front and back should be sloped at about a 1 in 4 slope so there is no blunt end forcing its way through the water.
Best wishes
Michael
