stanley #51 - spokeshave - how much
How much would you think a stanley #51 spokeshave would be worth? It was made in the USA, has original blade and looks to be in fair condition.
I am not really into collecting but I saw this spokeshave and thought it would make a handy addition to my mish mash at home but I dont want to pay a ridiculos amount for it if it is way over priced.
I am new to getting tools and have been done like a dinner a couple of times now so I want to make sure I am not being done over again.
Thanks for all your help.

I'll go with Groggy.
The #51 is OK for straight grain. You can shim the blade to close up the mouth for finer work. I think of these as equivalent to a jack plane- to rough out, then use something better to finish.
Keep an eye out for a #53 or #54. These have adjustable mouths.

cheers all. I think they want too much when you include the postage.
Thanks for the help on this.
