Default Carved Snake Walking Stick 02-21-2009

Just finished another Carved Snake Walking Stick.

I completed the finish on this snake a little differently than the others. I painted the snake and then covered it with poly. Did make one mistake. I didn't take into account when selecting the colors for the snake that the poly would darken the finish.

    I'm pretty happy anyway.

    Absolutely wonderful, congratulations.
I have been trying to find out some info on how to make walking sticks, can you suggest any websites or give some pointers.

Would love to forager though the bush for interesting pieces and make them into functioning Walking sticks.

Question: 'do you carve them green or are they already dries out timber from the forest floor?"

    Cheers

Nice one Stixman. I can remember carved walking sticks and men smoking wonderful carved pipes when I was a kid decades ago. So much more characrter then the ally sticks of today.

Wonderful caring stixman. I like the way there are flatter parts to the snake jsut like you would expect to see on a real one. And the colour is fantastic, just like our diamond pythons.
