    Default JR Statesman Truestone

    Just had time for a quick piccy as it was leaving , An Imperial stone from David (timberbits) sitting on one of his pen cases . Turned this on my metal lathe and polished on the wood lathe hehe! standard wet up to 12000 mm and brasso , a nice pen in the hand

    Thanks for the kind comments, I like these truestones, come up as polished rather than "high gloss" and Sam it was your wedding pens and the box you displayed them in inspired this one hehe, will be a few more of the "better" pens going in these, great value as well

    Great looking pen John.

    It must be so much easier doing it on a metal lathe compared to a wood lathe.

    David ! if I had the skills of others in the woodturning it may be ok, but 40 yrs of metal turning and machining makes my centre lathe machine of choice for some of the more difficult stuff ,and I must confess to mistakenly calling this "true-stone " Sam kindly reminded me it was "imperial stone" makes no difference to a carbide tool hehe, but not to confuse those who might wish to try this stuff at some point in their pen-making.
