I took a quick look on line, saw this thread and thought, "oh yeah ... whatever happened to that one?".
There's a few good threads going at the moment.
So ChPLAT ... how's progress??

Sorry guys, going has been slow as I've been using the uni machines for an hour or so every week.
Got the wood thicknessed, jointed and glued into one big slab.
That Titebond glue is the bee's knees.
I am redrawing my template as I felt it was a bit small and I wanna fiddle with some of the curves so back to AutoCAD.
I'm in the workshop tomorrow night so hopefully ill have the basic blank cut out.
Also found a good neck i wanna get for it off e-bay so I'm looking into how much it will cost.

Jeez, I wish I had ready access to a jointer and thicknesser ... or maybe not, I'd never be home!
Take your time refining your design. I drew and redrew my B C Rich inspired build several times before settling on the final design. I know Andy B is putting you under enormous pressure to make progress but don't worry about him
That neck has plenty of potential. Despite the low price (less than $100 landed) I've had no dramas with Eden necks, nor have others that I've heard of.
Another build is well underway

Still searching around for a neck as the one I wanted in its description says its for a bass.
Anyway got the image traced onto the wood and it is ready for a date with the heavy duty band saw.
Really happy with the final result after doing some tweaking to the body shape.
Don't know if you can see it that well from the picture but the horns are more curved and the shape flows better IMO.
Will get some more pictures up on Wednesday after its cut out and sanded hopefully.

Body is rough cut after drilling holes in the tight spots with Forstner bits on a drill press and band sawing out the rest.
I left a bit of meat on the horns but I know how I'll cut them out now.
Next up is a date with the drum and spindle sander.
Slowly getting there
......need to find a neck soon though.
