Haven't gotten much done these holidays cus I'm still waiting supplies from the US.

I ordered a nice hardtail bridge which should come soon then I can position it and cut the neck pocket and bevel the edges.

I have made up a template for the neck pocket and have decided to glue in the neck as i wont have enough space for a neck plate, so it's looking a little Gibson SG-ish.

Ordered some pickups from GFS. They are well priced and from what I've read sound really good.

Yeah not much has changed since last time so I didn't bother with pics. But the day that bridge comes a flood will begin.

And nah it's just a generic one, but it looks ok for 25 bucks.

Been working on it little by little. Here are some photos....

Don't know if this is gunna be long enough but time will tell.

Neck template came in very handy. Just traced the neck, cut with a jigsaw and sanded clean

Still needs some more detailing for the horns but it's coming along and suits the design more

Came out very well in my opinion. Practiced on a bit of scrap to test fit and its sweet.

For what i paid for it, it is a nice bridge.

This is after routing the 45' chamfer all around and putting a round on the bottom. Have been sanding the bottom corners so it doesn't stab my check when i hold it.

More to come in the following weeks. I am going to start the humbucker template soon and have the neck attached when the ferrules come in.

    Looking good.

That last photo looks as though you'll have enough meat for the neck to be bolted on to.

And the little bit we can see of the headstock looks great.

Taking ages for parts to come in now and with uni i haven't got much free time. So today i wanna get a fair bit done. Have my neck ferrules and i want to put them in and attach the neck so i can align my humbucker routes, bridge etc.

But if i put them in i don't think they will ever be coming out. Hopefully they wont be too hard to mask when i stain it

Other than that I'm glad to start to see things coming together. Has been a very long build so far.

neck ferrules will come out if you want them to...

put a small countersink on the hole the screw goes though before you put the ferrule in then just poke it out from the other side with a screwdriver or a bit of wire with a bend in the end when you want them out...

More templates and routing later I'm ready for a full dry fit up. As soon as I cut out an electronics cover at uni and get the recess routed for that I shall start the final sanding.

Just need to find some of those UBEAUT water based dyes somewhere locally too.....
