Nice one!
Jernbolaget were mostly known for cutlery and knives.
I believe their shaving knives are quite collectable.

had a cleanout of my shed and my fathers stuff and discovered i had a few too many spanners,most of the Sidchrome would have to be 35 years old at least,in the photos i forgot torque wrenches ,as well as all the spanners there are s/loads of sidchrome etc sockets, a cull is long overdue to say the least ........bob

Gotta tell yah about my old mate Sid Chrome. He's about Seventy now and a Spanna nut, very open ended about it though and you should give him a ring. But, be warned. He can get very screwed up. Once crossed he loses the thread and we can't shift him. We have to hold him in a vice grip and tell him to be still son. He then usually threatens to split our nut with a cold set in his eye sockets. Anyway we're on our way out to the breaker bar with our friends podger and WD to celebrate his fortieth. That should loosen him up a bit and in that case we can shift him (if you get my drift).

My darling picked this up for me last weekend at a garage sale. Blade measures about 31cm wide, and edge to edge the handles are about 47cm apart. The mark is hard to make out because it appears to be a double stamp, but I suspect it might say Marples. Feels very solid and is actually moderately sharp. I didn't own a draw knife before now, so I'm pretty chuffed. Especially since she picked it up without even asking me - I'm a lucky man.

To kick off this story I will introduce myself by say that back about the time the Ark was being constructed I did my apprenticeship in furniture making. An old boy about 103 in the shade called me over and gave me his tool box withe the words "these will last you the rest of your life if you look after them." Needless to say I have.
Fast forward 30 something years and I decided to do the same for a couple of young blokes I know. I put up an ad in my doctors surgery telling people what I was looking for and why. I have been given a few bits and bobs till last week when I got a call from an 89 year old woman whose husband died 2 years back. He was an Electrical Engineer who took a delight in his tools these are what she gave me and as I was leaving and offering profound thanks she said that he sisters husband was a carpenter whose tool boxes have been sitting in the corner of the garage for years and she wants to give them to me too. The only thing I have purchased is the vice which I got for $2 at the local charity shop.

Good morning all,

Scored these four little beauties from a friend recently. They've got Coles price tags on them reduced a number of times down to $1.00 each. The two Stanleys appear to be earlier than some others I've got which are marked 1982 on their cards.

My friend found them in the bottom of a box of tools so no idea when they were sold by Coles. I paid him more than $1 for them.
