    Default a bit of info please

    Ido a variety of things kinda depends on what i got.main interests are carving,inlay boxes,ect .So end up with lotsa bits.Thought i`d turn it into pen blanks. Black wattle,silky oak,red cedar, mainly.What i`d appreciate would be some insight into sizes ect . Just a new member, don`t know if`n i even got the right site ,but gotta start somewhere .Been checckin out your sites good stuff

    Depends on a few things, whether the blanks are for yourself or for sale ,if for sale you will need the buy swap sell sub forum at the top of the listing , As to sizes you can make a slimline pen from 1/2 " square, but that is very tight and needs to be drilled very accurately. The normal blanks for sale are around 3/4 square and about 5 1/2 to 6" long.Some pens only have one blank sierras and so on so they can be a bit shorter depending on the kits. some single types need at least an 80mm length in one piece.Some of the bigger pens will take up to a one inch blank for some room to move in the preperation process.     thanks John a big help ,iwould be sellin them, just lookin here for info ,mayby alittle more ,abit of pieces to chop up from what i do is,Black wattle, silky oak, red cedar,any use

    Nearly any timber can be used, all of the three you have mentioned are just fine!
