hi Will
for these abstracty/curvy shapes I scribble directly onto the wood (50mm thick cedar)
with chalk, (sketch, rub out, sketch, etc) till I find a pleasing line.
-blank out with bandsaw .
-hot glue a piece of scrap to the bottom so I can hold it in the jaws.
-rough out with carving wheel
-refine shapes with burrs in a dremel
-clean up undercuts with chisels and larger areas with abrasives
I find that handsanding from 180 grit on gives me nice clean lines.
hint... I stop at 240 grit and leave it up on the shelf.
regular drop ins to the shed know the routine, if you're gunna hang around, make yerself useful and sand something
what if the hokey pokey is really what it's all about?
