That's a spectacular piece of timber - beautifully done.

When you look at it you want to run your hand over it 'cos you can't quite accept that it's flat... really nice work :2tsup:

Great piece seems you can only see this quality timber in finished items you never see it for sale.

The salt and pepper grinders are 275 high.They were turned out of 80mmx80mm stock,finished in Mirotone semi-gloss.They were a challenge to turn because the grain went everywhere!!:oo:The platter is 375 wide and was turned out of a 65mm thick blank.:2tsup:Mapleman

The highly figured one is solid turned,whereas the plainer of the two is hollow turned,both in Qld Maple .Colour and grain can vary dramatically in Qld Maple,but when it's fancy,it's fancy!!Cheers Mapleman:rolleyes:
