Gil, again, a nice one. :2tsup:

Timely to boot as I have several 8-10" Mulberry logs drying some with small burls attached. Have been eyeing them for 18months or so wondering what to make out of them.

Thanks, Ray and Hughie.
Do either of you know of a woodturning book that targets finial design/proportion as it applies to hollowforms?
I will be interested in seeing what creations emerge from your Mulberry wood.
Cheers,

's probably the only bloke I know who could make finials for the Sydney Opera House that wouldn't look too small. :D

Thanks Toni, Keith, Ian, and Artme.
Keith, that is a fine piece of turning, and the excentric pedistil and finial are ver nicely done.
Ian, my Cindy Drozda DVD set just arrived so study time is allocated.
Artme, it is too bad that we live so far apart, I enjoy wood trading but the shipping to Australia is a bit steep for log chunks.

Nice work Gil and Keith. (If your piece only got a third in the Novice section Keith, I don't think I'll be entering for a few years yet:no:).
