The following book ends are as a result of the woodworking clubs half yearly project (further projects can be found in a post in the club section). We were given a lump of timber and we could make anything from it.

I ended up with some red gum which is a fine timber but somewhat difficult to work at times. The design was a bit on the fly given I only had a weekend before the project was due. The box joint ends were done on the Incra and then stained with U-beaut water based dyes before gluing back together.

The intention wasn't to have a highly carved animal but more of a contemporary hard edge. Overall I am fairly happy.

Thanks for looking.

Stinky.

:2tsup:Not bad for a weekends work, I reckon thats cool.
I've got a couple of old redgum posts that I want to use eventually, probably for detail parts on the hotrods, is it cranky? hard to work with?:?

cheers, billy:fireman:
