Hi,

Can anyone tell me where I can buy cedar cladding for a shed I am building in Sydney and how much it will cost per square metre (or lineal metre - I think the boards usually seem to be around 120mm x 10mm)?

Also, how does it compare with just using treated pine? Does it last longer? Is treated pine much cheaper?

Cheers

John

Give them a call (no connections, etc)

Oh, yes, it is more expensive than treated pine. I have used it on a south wall and it still looks great.:2tsup:

if you are talking about western red cedar from west coast usa and canada , it is hugely expensive and totally unsuited to our humid climate, will require endless maintainence , also soft , however a lovely timber lots of uses in joinery, threatened by exploitation of the resourse , use something dureable like hardieplank , aussie hardwood,, there is no affordeable w.r c, rossco
