Good Evening Friends,
With todays modern trusses there is something that is seldom used anymore, not counting the ridge board.

What is it?

Respectfully, :)

Good Evening Friends,
You all gave some good and humorous answers, however the one I was looking for is the return to the house. Remember when trusses first came out they would all have a return on them, but now you can only get them with special ordering.

With the return you did not have to install lookouts for the soffet and vents.

Thank you for your support.

Respectfully, :)

Ahh, never thought of that. The jobs I've worked on the eave sheets slip into a groove in the back of the fascia and fasten to a cleat on the wall. I've seen the trusses with the return but never really understood why they were needed.
