Hi All

I've just recently being offer to buy a Makita 1900b planer, its old but in great condition and hardly any use, almost new in condition.

I've also checkout a similar model in Bunning, the N1900b ($275). And I can't seems to differentiate the 1900b and the n1900b except that the 1900b comes with a solid blades, everything else looks the same.

The asking price was half of the new N1900b and was wondering:

1. Is this a good buy? 1900b
2. What are the difference between the N1900b and the 1900b?

Thanks all in advance
Woodin

I would buy the old one. Fair chance it was made in Japan. Price maybe a bit high being seconhand and all, however the old ones just seem to keep going. Great unit.

The only thing I can fault with them is no dust extraction port.

Cant help u with what the "N" prefix means.
