Hi All,

Some recent turnings different from each other as chalk and cheese.

The platter is about 70cm at its widest diameter, and is alder I've been told by the experts on this forum.

The pair of side tables are made from Karri. Full inspection by the quality control sniffer.

Cheers,

FrankG

Frank, that is a fine looking natural edge platter.
Nice tables too.
When did y'all start putting collars on your sheep? :)

It's good to see some proper spindle turning. Kauri, eh? I wouldn't have picked it.

Nicely done indeed. :2tsup:

Hey Skew,

That's Karri not Kauri. Karri is a WA rainforest timber apparently, and plantation grown in South Africa as I was told at Matthews Timber, which removed the guilt factor a little.

Indeed doesn't look much like Kauri. Maybe the fuzzy inspector was confused too!

Good stuphph Frank!!:2tsup::2tsup::2tsup:

Great to see you are adept at both forms of turning,

Keep that Karri away from the termites.

Nice turnings there Frank,
That platter must have been a bit of a worry to sand on the lathe. But as you did not mention loosing any fingers then all good. The tables are nice too. I recently made a pair of side tables and wanted to do turned legs but was over ruled by the minister for planning and finance.

John
