As the owner of a couple of French cuff shirts and only one set of cuff links I have for a while been on the look out for a few new sets. One thing that put me off was the price. After seeing a Utube video on using resin to cast items for your own cuff links. I ordered a few cuff link blanks to give it a shot. Unfortunately when they arrived the blanks that I ordered had a flat top, not the type like in the video which had a small ledge around the perimeter to hold in the resin.

Oh well ..... I started to get thinking and decided to have a go at turning my own blanks. After a bit of effort I have managed to do it .... so far I have tried timber, acrylic, tile and concrete like benchtop material. Anyway here are some photos ......

The old school acrylic from about 5-6 years ago that was more of a chip configuration than the current swirl patterns.

Example of pen and cuff link set ..... just need to make a box.

Anyway thats about it ..... just thought it was something different.

Thanks must go to forum members Touchwood and ss_11000 who were kind enough to post me their acrylic off cuts to hone my techniques on. Cheers guys.

I like the cuff links a lot.
I would be keen to find out where you bought the findings.

Neat collection. Nicely done Stinky.:2tsup::2tsup::2tsup:

Cuff links were all the rage when I was in my teens and early twenties. Then they faded from view.

Terry ..... I purchased them off Ebay ... from the UK from memory.

Hope that they make a come back so that I can cover some costs and then be able to keep a few sets for myself :;. They might be like the watch and wallet gift set ..... make a popular gift when given together but not always what you need :no:.

Cheers

Stinky.
