Anyone in the Latrobe Valley area in victoria who is interested in some oak, send me a PM.

A friend of mine has had a large oak cut down at the property she is renting, the timber is up for grabs.

The tree is thought to be over 100 years old.

Brudda, it's kind of interesting seeing pics of the cut oak and seeing that the heartwood is light and the sapwood is dark...just opposite from the oaks here in the states.

I got some english oak a couple of years ago
splits just by looking at it so I'd suggest you slab and seal the ends very quickly
maybe even turn a couple of bowls wet to finish turning later - It worked for one of mine
