Hi,

I found a new-ish woodworking podcast over at www.iwoodwork.net (http://www.iwoodwork.net) by Mark Sterner.

The majority of the podcasts are about furniture making, so may be of interest to some people here, but he has started a series of woodturning ones. The podcasts are not for expert turners - it is more of a journey that Mark is taking to master the lathe this year. He starts of very basically (the first podcast is about roughing timber into a cylinder), but they are reasonably well explained and paced to suit a beginner. The production is pretty high quality.

the relevant podcasts (formatted for ipods) are:

Roughing Gouge (http://media.libsyn.com/media/iwoodwork/iWW05a.m4v)

Marks reasons for doing woodturning (http://media.libsyn.com/media/iwoodwork/Storytime.m4v)

Skew This (http://media.libsyn.com/media/iwoodwork/iWW05b.m4v)

I'd be interested on experts opinions on how Mark goes about the Skew chisel. His Skew seems to have a radius, which I'm not a fan of, but I'm far from an expert on the subject.

The directory of podcasts are here (http://www.iwoodwork.net/Podcast/Downloads/Downloads.html). They seem to be released roughly monthly.

Appologies if you have seen this before.

Cheers,
Dave

I do not normally comment on things that other people do BUT this is an accident waiting to happen. If he was taught by Richard Raffan then he has forgotten a lot.
